On April 21, UVCA (Ukrainian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association) with the support of WNISEF Fund hosted the final of start-ups competition. The winner will represent Ukraine at the international competition SVOD (Silicon Valley Open Doors) – one of the largest start-up world conference that will take place in May 25-26 in Mountain View.

Unfortunately, today many start-ups are faced with the problem of funding not only for project development but also for participating in international conferences. That is why we provide Ukrainian startup a chance for free pitch at SVOD stage, after which historically, every 2nd project receives funding“- says the executive director of the Association of International Investors Olga Afanasyeva. – Our goal is not only to present the Ukrainian start-up, but also Ukraine and its investment opportunities. For the first time Ukrainian Association becomes SVOD partner and presents achievements of the local investment market. ”

Totally 35 projects from around the world will perform on the stage of the conference this year, and there is one “Ukrainian” – Cardiolyse, that became winner of the UVCA Startup Challenge. The company specializes in e-health technologies, analyzing the electrical signals of the human heart and provides care for heart anytime, anywhere.

In addition, the jury decided to award the second place with the ticket for SVOD. Of course, the chance to perform has only the winner, but Cluise team (clever Stylist application – a personal shopping assistant) will mingle with 400+ investors during the conference.

Also the jury included Nick Belogorsky (President of the Foundation «Nova Ukraine») and Zhenya Rozinsky (IT expert), who have prepared additional special prizes for another 2 finalists. Startups, that took second and third place according to voting, will become participants in TechCrunch Disrupt in San Francisco (at Ukrainian pavilion). This unexpected gift was granted to Cluise and  PrePly (modern online platform for finding a tutor and learning a foreign language).
